Terms of Service

The following are our terms of service.

Thank you for visiting Charteris Music School ("CharterisMusicSchool.com" or "Site" or Website" or "Our School" or "Our Company" or "We" or "Us").

The Terms and Conditions stated in this Terms of Use Agreement ("Agreement") govern your use of Charteris Music School service ("Service"). Before accessing, downloading or using any part of the Service, you should carefully review the following Agreement. We provide the Service to you only on the condition that you accept all of the Terms and Conditions stated in this Agreement. Accessing, downloading, using the Service and/or attending Charteris Music School constitute your agreement to be bound to the Terms and Conditions of this Agreement posted to this site, which is incorporated into this Agreement by reference. This Agreement will take effect at the moment you submit your enrolment ("Enrolment") electronically and/or in hardcopy form, and/or begin accessing, downloading, using the Service and/or attending Charteris Music School, whichever is earliest. If you do not agree with this Agreement, you are not granted permission to access or otherwise use our Service. This Agreement may be governed by the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign Act).

All references herein to "We" mean Charteris Music School, including its successors and assigns, which operates the Site and the Service. All references herein to "Applicant" or "You" refer to any user of this Site and the Service. Parents/Legal guardians accept the Terms and Conditions on behalf of their children. All references herein to "School term" refer to the Victorian Primary School term calendar.

  1. All lessons are conducted by qualified teachers in their field of expertise. All staff have a valid Working with Children (WWC) check or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
  2. Scheduling follows the Victorian Primary School term calendar.
  3. Timetables must be strictly adhered to at all times.
  4. All enrolment must be submitted online via our website or via the appropriate form from our School. A registration fee of $100 is required to complete enrolment. This registration fee is refundable at termination at the end of school term if, and only if, 14 days' written cancellation notice prior to the end of that current school term, is given.
  5. Scheduling/grouping of students will only commence once registration fees have been received in full. Grouping is performed according to student's ability and may change, depending on student's progress.
  6. Music instruction fees are invoiced per school term and payable in advance, in full, by the due date stated on your invoice. This is not refundable.
  7. A yearly music folio fee is also payable in advance, in full, on the due date. This is not refundable.
  8. Payment can be paid by cash or EFT.
  9. If full payment is not made by the due date, Charteris Music School may suspend tuition until payment has been made in full.
  10. Payment made after the due date incurs a non-refundable administration fee of $10. There is also an additional administration surcharge of 2% per month.
  11. In the event of default on payment/s, action will be taken to recover the debt. The client will incur all costs accrued, including surcharges.
  12. Fees for missed lessons are not transferable to the following term's fees. Replacement lesson is subject to vacancy in Charteris Music School's roster. If there is a vacancy, a replacement lesson will be given in the same term, provided (a) fee for the current term was paid in full by the due date and (b) at least 24 hours' notice is given for an absence (max of 4 occasions in a calendar year)
  13. Charteris Music School accepts no liability or responsibility for any injury sustained by the student that arises from participation in any activity connected with Charteris Music School. Charteris Music School also accepts no liability or responsibility for any minors, siblings, friends or relatives of the students who attends and/or wait at Charteris Music School locations for the students having music lessons.
  14. Charteris Music School reserves the right to include or exclude any individual or organisation at its discretion.
  15. If a new student cancels and this cancellation is received by Charteris Music School prior to the commencement of his/her first term of weekly classes, Charteris Music School reserves the right to try to fill this spot with another new student at their sole discretion. If this place is filled with a new student prior to the commencement of the weekly program, Charteris Music School will refund the balance of the registration fee minus a non-refundable $10 administration fee. This administration fee is non-refundable under any circumstance.
  16. If a new student cancels after commencement of his/her first term of weekly classes, then the registration fee is forfeited. There is also an administration fee of $10.
  17. NUT-FREE POLICY - Charteris Music School has a nut-free policy. Students are asked not to bring any food containing nut products to classes and concerts.
  18. The parent/guardian of the student is required to inform Charteris Music School in writing of any allergies the child may have.
  19. Where it is impractical to communicate with the parent/guardian of the student, the parent/guardian authorises the staff of Charteris Music School to whatever medical or surgical treatment as may be deemed necessary for the student.
  20. The parent/guardian of the student authorises Charteris Music School to use image or recording of the student in a photo, film and/or audio recording and/or use the student's work sample for promotional use only. The parent/guardian of the student authorises Charteris Music School to identify the student by first name and first letter of surname and/or his/her school/preschool only.
  21. The parent/guardian of the student understands that Charteris Music School reserves the right to cancel classes that do not meet the enrolment quota. In this case, a full refund will be returned to the parent/guardian of the student.

These terms and conditions are subject to change without notice from time to time, at our sole discretion. We will notify you of amendments to these term and conditions by posting them to this page.
